Facility Scorecard
Executive Summary
Granbury High School, originally built in 1973, has undergone several renovations and additions over the years, specifically in 1979, 1985, 1995, 2015, and 2016, with a major renovation in 2016 that included the addition of Career and Technical Education (CTE) facilities. The campus is in good overall condition but requires regular annual maintenance to refinish high-touch areas such as walls, floors, and ceilings. Some classrooms, particularly those from the Grand Hall addition in 1995–1997, are slightly below the recommended standard size of 700 square feet. The gym, while needing minor repairs and updates, remains adequate for use as a secondary gym space, and the cafeteria is appropriately sized to accommodate three lunch services. The HVAC system requires a replacement plan, as more than 70% of total tonnage is at or nearing life expectancy within the next five years. Additionally, the single-ply roof system is expected to reach its life expectancy in 2031, and a replacement plan should be developed. The campus is currently operating at approximately 84% of its optimum capacity, and planning should begin to address future space needs in anticipation of continued growth. With ongoing maintenance and targeted funding for priority projects, the high school facility could continue to serve the district effectively for another 20 to 25 years.
