Athletics and Concessions
Facility Scorecard
Athletics and Concessions
Executive Summary
The Frankston ISD Athletics consists of the tennis courts and the football, baseball and softball fields and adjacent concession facilities. The concession and restroom facilities were all completed in 2013, and while minor maintenance is needed, they are still in good condition and should continue to meet the needs of the district. The football press box is in poor condition and should be replaced to ensure adequate safety requirements are met. Additional storage is needed adjacent to the practice field and bleachers on the visitor side should be replaced. The home side bleachers are in good condition, but erosion concerns should be addressed to ensure structural components are not at risk. Each of the sports fields have been impacted by long term erosion and drainage issues and the district should consider a campus wide drainage evaluation. Due to these ongoing issues, many of the fields are not useable at certain points in the year and their overall deterioration is evident. Once drainage is resolved, the fields should be repaired, and the district should consider installing irrigation systems if natural turf remains. The field house was completed in 1972 and it one of the older facilities within the district. Due to its age, the facility should have electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems further evaluated and updated where needed. Interior finishes and furniture have deteriorated and need updates and repairs. The district should address the deterioration and location of each of the sports fields and make updates to meet the long-term needs of the programs.
