Executive Summary

Seagraves Junior High School main building was built in 1959 with an auditorium wing added two years later. The main building is in fair condition with different maintenance, repairs and upgrades needed. ADA renovations are needed to bring the campus into compliance. Assessing the foundation movement and making needed repairs will be critical to the continued use of this campus in coming years. Re-sealing the building envelope, stopping all roof leaks, repairing and re-sealing exterior walls is very important to maintaining the interior structure and indoor air quality. The roofing system is believed to be over 31 years old and has evidence of damage. Stained ceiling tiles observed is an indication that roofing repairs are needed. Most of the HVAC systems have exceeded their life expectancy and district should be planning for replacements. Finish surfaces need to be updated and refreshed in the main building area. District should review and consider Safety & Security Recommendations on the Facility Details page. In all, the interior of the facility provides an educational environment that is conducive to learning. Due to the high Facility Condition Index the district should consider the value of extensive renovations and additions versus a newly constructed facility. With all updates, additions, renovations, and proper maintenance this campus could potentially continue to serve the district for an additional 20 years.
