Executive Summary

Recommend moving either IT or Early College to allow for adequate space for both programs. IT officing and prep-shop in 'loft' area w low ceiling height, extremely crowded. Additional space needed for storage. Network Operating Center (NOC) is well equipped, spacious. Storage space shortage is evidenced by spare parts being stored in NOC. Improvements include replacing the 4x2 ceiling system, addressing the ponding on the roof, providing railing at the steps and chair lift in the IT area and installation of LED lighting. Additions include additional storage space, signage, additional and replacement technology equipment, district wide cabling corrections, and upgraded access points. Given the location, cramped quarters for IT staff, current NOC installation, security concerns related to students being in the same building and the expense of relocating this very specialized facility, it is recommended that the Early College program be relocated to another part of the HS campus to allow for much needed space for the operation of the IT department. With these efforts and continued maintenance, this facility should serve the district well for another 20-25 years.
