Executive Summary

The Bailey Auditorium was built in 1988 on the Main Campus for Breckenridge ISD. This facility occupies the Main Campus along with the High School built in 1967, Junior High School built 1969, LT Cook Gym and Junior High Field House 1969, Cafeteria with Home Economics and Life skills 1957, Vocational and Band Hall 1957, Practice Gym 1957, VOE Classrooms 1979, Ag Classrooms and Shop 1985, the Buckeroo Stadium, and Athletic and Fine Arts Center 2008. The Main campus is 10.76 acres in size. Bailey Auditorium is in fair condition needing repairs, maintenance and usual updates for a building built in 1988. The masonry walls are water stained from roof overflow scuppers, missing grout, cracked bricks, and missing skim coat on columns needing repair. With the indications of foundation movement an engineering study to determine cause and proper mitigation should be considered. Additionally, progress should be made towards full ADA compliance, providing positive storm water drainage, back filling where needed, updating finished surfaces internally and externally, along with updating technology, audio, video, and lighting systems. District should review and consider Safety & Security Recommendations on the Facility Details page. In all, this facility supports the district’s educational environment. With updates, repairs, and proper maintenance this facility could continue to serve the district for an additional 25-30 years.
