Facility Scorecard
Executive Summary
The Breckenridge Cafeteria with Home Economics and Life Skills was built in 1957. This facility is located on the Main Campus along with the High School built in 1967, Junior High School built 1969, Practice Gym, Vocational, and Band Hall 1957, Cook Gym 1969, VOE Classrooms 1978, Ag Shop and Classrooms 1985, the Buckeroo Stadium, Auditorium 1988, and the Athletic and Arts Facility in 2008. The Main campus is 10.76 acres in size. The Cafeteria building itself is in fair condition for a building of its age. The kitchen is undersized to serve existing student capacity and substantially undersized if or when full campus capacity is reached. Re-sealing the building envelope, repairing, and re-sealing exterior walls is very important to maintaining the interior structure and indoor air quality. The HVAC systems are mostly up to date with respect to the age of equipment. Additionally, repairing broken windows or updating window systems is needed along with refreshing finished surfaces, updating door hardware, and technology. Consideration should be given to remodeling of Home Economics and Life Skills to provide efficient effective use of existing space. District should review and consider Safety & Security Recommendations on the Facility Details page. In all, the interior of the facility provides an educational environment that is conducive to learning. With updates, renovations, and proper maintenance this facility could continue to serve the district for an additional 25-30 years.
