Waskom ISD Administration and IT Buildings

  • Replace ceiling tiles at IT Building.
  • Repair/resurface asphalt parking lot between buildings.
  • ADA improvements needed: make restrooms ADA compliant; provide compliant ADA parking space adjacent to IT Building entrance; make all ADA parking spaces ADA compliant; 4" threshold at rear entrance to Administration Building prevents ADA access; no ADA complaint entrances are provided at the IT Building and the DAEP area.

Waskom ISD Transportation Facility

  • Replace aging HVAC unit.
  • ADA improvements needed: designated ADA parking; access route from parking into the building; ADA compliant restroom; mezzanine stairs.

Waskom Middle School - Main - 1957 & 1972 buildings

  • Replace 22 aging HVAC units. Upgrade HVAC controls, test and balance system, and repair/upgrade ductwork when replacing older HVAC units.
  • Splash blocks missing below numerous downspouts.
  • Repave asphalt drives and parking.
  • Clean debris from gutters.
  • ADA improvements needed: compliant ADA parking at front parking lot serving both the Middle School entrance and the Elementary School entrance; improved access routes needed into the campuses from the front parking spaces; improved ADA restrooms needed in many areas.

Waskom High School - Vocational Buildings (1966/2007)

  • Upgrade controls when replacing aging HVAC units.
  • Replace 15 aging HVAC units and upgrade controls when replacing HVAC units.
  • Replace splash blocks where missing below downspouts. Improve drainage between vocational buildings.

Waskom High School - Main - Post 2000 buildings

  • Significant leaks at front entry hall of main building and other areas of main building. Have a roofing consultant perform a detailed inspection, and then make all needed repairs to eliminate the leaks.
  • Replace 29 aging HVAC units. Rebalance system, upgrade controls, and repair ductwork with HVAC replacement.

Waskom Elementary School - post 2000 buildings

  • Replace 3 aging HVAC units.
  • Place splash block under downspouts where missing.
  • ADA access routes needed to playgrounds and playground equipment.

Waskom Elementary School - Main - pre 2000 buildings

  • Replace 24 aging HVAC units; and upgrade controls, rebalance system, and repair ductwork when replacing HVAC units.
  • Add splash blocks under downspouts where missing.
  • Repair/repaint most exteriors, including eaves, soffits, canopy undersides and posts, etc.
  • Replace older windows, clean and recaulk most frames.
  • Provide ADA access to playgrounds and playground equipment.

Waskom High School - Athletic Fields

  • Replace single ply and metal roof portions of the softball fieldhouse, repair soffits and fascia as part of replacement.
  • Make major repairs and repainting to exterior of softball fieldhouse.
  • Repaint interior of softball fieldhouse and restrooms.
  • Provide paved parking areas for ADA parking spaces at baseball and softball fields.
  • Provide ADA access routes from paved parking to softball and baseball bleachers, restrooms, concessions, etc. Provide integrated wheelchair seating spaces at softball and baseball bleachers. Provide compliant ADA restrooms at baseball field. Make stairs to press boxes at all stadiums ADA compliant.

  • Repaint/refinish any worn interior doors; replace knobs with ADA compliant lever hardware.
  • Repair worn or damaged VCT tiles. Some older 9x9 tiles may contain asbestos.
  • Repaint some wallboard ceilings.
  • Clean and repair toilet fixtures. Replace old non-ADA compliant drinking fountains.
  • Replace plumbing infrastructure older than 30 years.
  • Replace electrical and lighting infrastructure older than 30 years.
  • Repair/repaint underside of canopy and porch covers.
  • Cafeteria kitchen is undersized for current student population at the elementary and middle schools; recommend addition to increase kitchen space.
  • Boarded windows at entrance to rooms 14/15 need repair/replacement.
