Anderson-Shiro CISD - AS Elementary

Executive Summary

Built in 1988, the Anderson-Shiro Elementary School building is in good condition but is in need of maintenance and repair of various building components and systems. The main section of the roof should be replaced, several safety and security improvements should be made along with improvements in accessibility, finishes, site conditions, furnishings, and minor mechanical conditions. With these and other improvements, and continued maintenance and repair of the building and its systems, the facility should serve the district well for another 20-25 years. Utilization is at 83%, indicating a need for expansion in the near future. With campus requests for additional instructional space and our recommendation to relocate the central administration functions off campus, the district should begin studying options for campus and district expansion.
