Facility Scorecard
Executive Summary
Originally built in 1959 the East Elementary School campus added a Gym in the 1980s along with a classroom addition in 2005. This facility is in fair to good condition with different maintenance and repair needs depending on age of the area in question. There has been progress made toward ADA compliance but there are still renovations needed to bring the facility more into compliance. Re-sealing the building envelope, stopping all roof leaks, repairing and re-sealing exterior walls is the critical path to maintaining the interior structure and indoor air quality. Replacement of HVAC systems at or past their expected useful life is needed. In addition, a classroom addition to replace portables and increase capacity is recommended along with updating technology in the classroom as well as office and kitchen renovations with possible addition to accommodate protentional campus capacity. The finish surfaces need substantial updating and refreshing in the 1959 area. District should review and consider Safety & Security Recommendations on the Facility Details page. In all, the interior of the facility provides a well-maintained educational environment that is conducive to learning. Due to the high Facility Condition Index the district should consider the value of extensive renovations and additions versus a newly constructed facility. With updates, additions, renovations, and proper maintenance this campus should continue to serve the district for an additional 25-30 years.
