Breckenridge Main Campus - Junior High School and Portable

Facility Scorecard
Executive Summary
Breckenridge Junior High School was built in 1969 with an addition in 1998. This facility is located on Breckenridge ISD's Main Campus along with the High School built in 1967, the Cafeteria 1956, Practice Gym, Vocational, and Band Hall 1957, Cook Gym 1969, VOE Classrooms 1978, Ag Shop and Classrooms 1985, the Buckeroo Stadium, Auditorium 1988, and the Athletic and Arts Facility in 2008. The Main campus is 10.76 acres in size. The original Junior High School building is in fair to good condition with the 2008 addition in good condition. There has been progress made toward ADA compliance but there are still renovations needed to bring the facility into full compliance. Stopping the storm water infiltration into the north first floor classrooms is critical. Re-sealing the building envelope, repairing and re-sealing exterior walls is very important to maintaining the interior structure and indoor air quality. The HVAC systems are mostly up to date with respect to the age of equipment although high CO2 levels observed warrants further investigative action and correction. Additionally, library is undersized when campus is at full functional capacity, administrative and nurse’s offices are poorly arranged. Finished surfaces and door hardware need to be updated and refreshed. District should review and consider Safety & Security Recommendations on the Facility Details page. In all, the interior of the facility provides a well-maintained educational environment that is conducive to learning. With updates, renovations, and proper maintenance this campus could continue to serve the district for an additional 25-30 years.
