Executive Summary

The District Services Center for Breckenridge ISD was built in 1960 by the National Gard from the appearance of the structure. This facility sets on 2.45 acres with an attached steel constructed covered area built around the same time and a detached bus repair shop built in 1985. The Services Center houses the maintenance shop, maintenance offices, transportation offices, storage, and some additional offices for district staff. The District Services Center is in fair condition overall although it is in need of updates and maintenance of several building components. Cracking in the interior masonry block and exterior brick was observed indicating there has been movement of some type. Repair cracking and observe, if movement persists consider engineering study. Many of the HVAC systems are at or past the expected useful life and should be replaced, the window systems should be updated with energy efficient systems, the front parking lot needs resurfacing, and ADA compliant path along with parking installed. The interior of this facility would need updating and renovated to be fully ADA compliant. In addition, the district should review and consider Safety & Security recommendations on the Facility Details page. With renovations, updates, maintenance, and repairs this facility could continue to serve the district for an additional 20 to 30 years.
